Terms of service

Scope

These terms apply to the CacheVault CDN service (“the service”) and to this website. If you have a signed agreement or order form with us, that document takes precedence wherever it differs from this page. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

The service

We cache and deliver content from origins you control, on hostnames you configure with us. We work hard to keep the network available and fast, but unless we have agreed a specific service level with you in writing, the service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis without a guaranteed uptime figure.

Your responsibilities

• You must have the right to distribute everything served through your hostnames.
• Keep your API tokens secret, and tell us promptly if one may have leaked.
• Give us a working contact address for operational and abuse notices.
• Make sure your origin sends cache headers that reflect what you actually want cached — especially for private or personalised responses.

Acceptable use

You may not use the service to deliver, or to help deliver:

• content that is illegal where it is served or stored;
• malware, phishing pages, or anything designed to steal credentials or deceive people;
• child sexual abuse material, which we report to the relevant authorities;
• content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademarks or other rights;
• spam, or infrastructure for sending it.

You also may not use the service to attack, scan or overload other networks; test the security of our network without permission (please write to security@cachevault.net first); or try to get around usage limits or billing.

Abuse reports and suspension

Send reports about content served through our network to ops@cachevault.net, with the URL and a description of the problem. We review credible reports and act on them.

We may remove cached content or suspend a hostname when that is needed to stop abuse, protect the network or comply with the law. Where we can, we'll contact you first and explain why.

Your content

You keep all rights to your content. You give us only the limited permission needed to store, cache, compress and deliver it on your behalf, and we don't use it for any other purpose.

Fees

Pricing is usage-based and set out in your quote. Invoices are payable as stated on them. If an invoice remains unpaid after a reminder, we may suspend the service until it is settled.

Warranty and liability

The service and this website are provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses — such as lost profits, revenue or data — and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the service

You can stop using the service at any time. We may end the service with reasonable notice, or immediately if these terms are seriously breached.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and we'll email customers before any material change takes effect.
